Built around the fishing community.

From a small boatbuilding operation to three operating locations.

Christ Boatyard was established in 2003 under Mr. Selvaraj at Kadingurum, near Poovar. With around eight employees, the yard built its first model, the T32, and grew through practical experience and a close understanding of fishermen’s needs.

In 2018, the company relocated to Chalakara, Kulathur Panchayat. In 2022, it moved to the present principal facility near Poovar Checkpost. Today, operations span Poovar, Kochupally, and Thengapattanam, with the next generation continuing the family business.

Christ Boatyard brings practical boatbuilding experience to marine-grade FRP fishing boats, passenger boats and custom vessels in Kerala.

Materials & Workmanship

Christ Boatyard uses marine-grade FRP materials, with attention to material quality and suitability for marine use. Construction workmanship and practical fishing requirements remain at the centre of our manufacturing approach. Our fishing-vessel range is approximately 24–85 feet, distinct from the smaller SAM passenger and performance models.

The Poovar Outlet

Sanjay Raj, the owner’s son, oversees the new Poovar outlet and its day-to-day operations. His involvement carries the family’s foundation forward, with a focus on how the team works, the quality it delivers and the experience it provides to customers.
